So I was supposed to go with friends to the Michigan Renaissance Faire each of the last three weekends, and bailed every time.

Really, to be frank, I don’t have much interest in going. Yes, that sounds weird coming from me, I admit. Honestly, though, the Renaissance Faire is nothing more than a bunch of over-priced merchants selling the same stuff I can buy online for a fraction of the price and without the near three hours of driving, trudging around with a bunch of smelly nerds who think the Renaissance Faire is the appropriate place to wear fairy wings, and see a bunch of shows I’ve already seen dozens of times.

There is no compelling reason for me to make the trek out there.

I may still end up going in a couple weekends just to appease my friends and family, but seriously, I’d rather people just stop expecting me to go.
